In the 1983 movie Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™, hero Luke Skywalker had barely survived his ordeal with the rancor when gangster Jabba the Hutt decreed that his reward would be to be thrown into the Sarlacc pit along with Han Solo and Chewbacca.
The stunning, luxurious sail barge that Jabba used to transport his prisoners to the sand-dwelling monster is the latest building set to join the LEGO® Star Wars™ Ultimate Collector Series (UCS).

Recreate the Battle over the Sarlacc
The fight that ensues over the Sarlacc is a crucial early battle in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and sees more than one character fall over the side only to be eaten by the fearsome monster under the sand.
Now, you can recall the famous scenes that took place just before, with this impressive 3,942-piece model that measures over 30.5 in. (77 cm) long. It includes adjustable textile sails, a top deck that lifts off and sides that fold down to reveal the detailed interior.
The interior includes a cockpit, holding cell, armory and entertainment room equipped with Jabba’s bed and much more.

It’s clear from the start that Jabba the Hutt is an unsavory character, so it should be no surprise that his palace and the sail barge are filled with a dangerous assortment of reprobates.
In the LEGO Star Wars Jabba’s Sail Barge set, we have faithfully recreated an incredibly array of 11 minifigures, including Jabba the Hutt, Bib Fortuna, Salacious Crumb, Max Rebo, Kithaba, Vizam, Wooof and a Gamorrean Guard.
But it’s not all about the bad guys, and the set also includes Princess Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2 wearing a bar table just like in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
A welcome new addition sailing into the UCS
Over the last 25 years, the UCS has seen some of the most iconic aspects of the Star Wars universe turned into some of the biggest and most detailed sets available.
Fans have been delighted by epic builds like the TIE Interceptor, the X-wing Starfighter and the Millennium Falcon™. Now, the LEGO Star Wars Jabba’s Sail Barge is the latest to join the lineup.
But the eagle-eyed will know that this isn’t the first time this vehicle has appeared as a LEGO set. In 2007, a 781-piece set was launched, and in 2013, a slightly larger 850-piece set was released, which included Jabba the Hutt, R2-D2 and Princess Leia minifigures.
In 2017, we also released the LEGO Star Wars Desert Skiff Escape, though this set focused on the smaller vehicle that accompanied the sail barge and included minifigures of Han Solo, Boba Fett and Chewbacca.
